What is the PTA?
We are the Parent Teacher Association – a group of parents and a teacher rep that mostly fundraise to enhance our children’s school community. We are not the Board of Trustees and do not deal with any governance or heavy decision making – we make money and then we invest it back into the school. It’s easy and its fun!
What do we do?
We meet monthly in the staffroom to plan our activities. Fundraisers have included such things as the annual Calf Club, entertainment evenings, discos, fun runs, family photos, sausage sizzles, sales of Entertainment Books and chocolates. We also host afternoon teas to welcome new families into the school, assist with our Year 6 end of year activities, run an annual fun day for the whole school and facilitate community activities such as parenting courses.

There is too much commitment: You can only do what you can do – tasks are on offer and you can say yes or no to these at meetings.
I am too busy: Great! Busy people are the ones that get things done – it only amounts to an average of 1 hour per week.
I am working full time: Most of the members do, many tasks can be done after hours, at home, on the day of the event or by email and phone.
